Our Story
Smiles Fashion began in 1976 as a small print house on the garment blocks of New York City, cutting and printing our own fabric long before "print-led" was a category. Our founders believed a dress didn't need embellishment to feel special — it needed a print worth telling a story about. Five decades later, that idea still runs the business: every collection starts with an original print, developed in-house, before a single seam is cut.
Today Smiles Fashion is finished and shipped from our warehouse in Secaucus, New Jersey, just across the river from where the company got its start. We're still a print house first — our design team develops floral and botanical artwork season after season, then works backward to the silhouettes that let each print move: midi dresses that swing, blouses that breathe, and separates you can mix without a second thought.
We work primarily in cotton — poplin, voile, slub, and yarn dyed weaves — alongside crepe knit, ice crepe, mesh, and a family of rayons (crinkle, flax, nylon, and poly blends) chosen for how they hold a print and drape on the body. Every fabric on the site was picked for a reason: crispness for a camp blouse, fluidity for a tiered skirt, a cooling hand for a summer shell.
Our Mission
We make garments for women who want to get dressed once and feel finished — pieces with enough print and personality to do the talking, cut generously enough to actually live in. We're not chasing trends season to season; we're refining a point of view about what a floral print house can be when it's been doing this since 1976.
We hold ourselves to a simple standard: if we wouldn't wear it out the door, we don't put it on the site. That means real fit testing, real fabric hand-feel, and prints developed by our own studio rather than licensed off a stock sheet.

We work in garments only — you won't find footwear, handbags, jewelry, or home goods here. Apparel is what we know, and it's all we do.
Quality & Craft
Every print starts as original artwork from our in-house design studio before it's engineered onto fabric. We choose weight and hand fabric by fabric — a poplin needs body to hold a collar, a voile needs to stay sheer-light, a crepe knit needs just enough stretch to move without losing shape. Garments are cut to a relaxed, true-to-size fit across XS–XL, with construction details — French seams, self-tie waists, shirttail hems — that we've refined over decades, not seasons.

Every order is packed and shipped from our warehouse in Secaucus, New Jersey. We offer free standard shipping on U.S. orders over $75 and ship to all 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii. Our customer support team is based here too, and is available Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST — we respond to every inquiry within 1–2 business days.
Our Commitment to You
We back every order with a 30-day return window and a support team that actually answers email. If a print, fit, or fabric isn't right, we want to know — it's how the collection gets better every season. We don't run fake countdown timers, we don't inflate "original" prices to fake a discount, and we don't make claims about our garments we can't stand behind.
Design & Fabric Sourcing
Our design studio releases new prints in step with the seasons — spring and summer collections lean into lighter cottons and crepe knits, while fall assortments move toward heavier weaves and richer colorways. We work with long-standing textile mills to source our base cloth, then take the print development in-house so we control the scale, colorway, and placement of every pattern from first sketch to finished bolt. That in-house process is also why you won't see the same print twice from us — once a run is finished, it's retired.
Sustainability in Practice
We favor natural fiber bases — cotton, and rayon derived from renewable wood pulp — over synthetic-heavy alternatives wherever the design allows, and we print in smaller, planned runs rather than mass over-ordering, which keeps excess inventory and markdowns to a minimum. Packaging is kept simple and recyclable. We're a small operation, and we see sustainability as an ongoing practice we keep improving on rather than a marketing claim to make once and forget.

Smiles Fashion is run day to day by a small team based out of our Secaucus warehouse — design, customer support, and fulfillment all under one roof, which is part of why we can turn around questions and issues quickly. How to Shop Our Prints
Because every print is developed and run in-house in limited batches, once a colorway sells through it generally isn't restocked in the same run. If you find a piece you love, we'd recommend not waiting too long — and if something you want is out of stock, email us and we'll let you know if it's coming back in a future season. Most customers start with a floral midi dress as an easy first piece, then build out separates in matching or complementary prints from there.

The reason customers reorder from us season after season usually comes down to two things: the prints don't look like anything else in their closet, and the fabric holds up.
